Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 lb ground breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage with cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. If using, stir in shredded cheddar cheese for extra flavor.
- Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of the sausage-cream cheese mixture on the wide end of each triangle. Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end and tucking in the filling as you go.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Lightly brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake: Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Serve Warm: Garnish with fresh parsley (if desired) and enjoy warm!
Notes
- Use spicy sausage for an extra kick of flavor.
- Substitute crescent roll dough with puff pastry for a flakier texture.
- Serve with honey mustard, ranch, or marinara sauce for dipping.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best results.
