- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- 1/2 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, and sour cream until well combined.
- Layer the Casserole:
- Spread half of the sliced potatoes evenly in the baking dish.
- Add half of the cooked beef mixture.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the top and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
- Add Topping (Optional): Sprinkle crushed crackers or breadcrumbs over the top for a crispy texture.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy!
